1. Kyoto Municipal Housing (Kyoto Shiei Jutaku)
Notice in Applying for municipal Housings
- Applicant must be over 20 years of age

Resident Registration at local city/ward office must be completed by the time of
application.
- Address or place of work must be in Kyoto City
- Single is not eligible.

Applicants must be able to conduct everyday conversations in Japanese.

*Emergency contact: A person who lives in Japan (in Kyoto if possible) and should be able to
conduct everyday conversations in Japanese.

Application forms are available at Kyoto City/Ward offices at the beginning of each
application month.
Recruitment occurs 4 times a year (Apr., Jun., Sep., and Dec.). Locations and apartment
layouts are available along with application form. Residents are chosen by lottery. It takes
about 3 months from application to move-in. General information on municipal housing is
available anytime at city/ward offices. The housings are located within Kyoto City.

2. Kyoto Prefectural Housing (Kyoto Fuei Jutaku)
