Application Procedure	Recruitment is held four times a year (April, June, September, and December). Information on available housing complexes and floor plans is provided together with the application form. A general brochure on Kyoto City municipal housing is available at Kyoto-shi Jutaku Kyokyu Kosha offices and Kyoto City ward/branch offices throughout the year. Application forms are available at Kyoto City ward offices and branch offices at the beginning of each recruitment period. Applicants are selected by public lottery. It generally takes approximately three months from application to move-in.

Application Notes

Applicants must be able to communicate in Japanese in daily life (the application guidelines, application forms, and move-in orientation are provided only in Japanese).
Applicants must designate one emergency contact.
* The emergency contact must reside in Japan (preferably in Kyoto Prefecture) and be able to communicate in Japanese in daily life.
Applicants must be 20 years of age or older.
Applicants must have completed resident registration in Japan.
Applicants must reside, study, or work in Kyoto City.
Single applicants are not eligible. Applicants must currently live with, or intend to live with, family members.

Application Procedure	Recruitment is held approximately six times a year (June, July, October, November, February, and March). Application forms are available at the Kyoto-fu Jutaku Kyokyu Kosha. The housing complexes are located throughout Kyoto Prefecture. If the number of applicants exceeds the number of available units, applicants are selected by public lottery. It generally takes approximately three months from application to move-in.
