Kyoto University has accommodation facilities available for international students and researchers, located in the Shugakuin, Yoshida, Koshibo (for students only), Hyakumanben (for students only), [Provisional name] Mizuki International House (for students only), Okazaki, Uji and Ohbaku areas of Kyoto.
Applications must be made on the researcher’s behalf by their host professor or an appropriate staff member of their faculty/department of affiliation.

Outline
For Students
International students who will enroll at Kyoto University within one year of their arrival in Japan are eligible to apply.
Regular Application
The move-in periods are April and October. Applications are accepted in January and July (three
months prior to the desired move-in period).
Temporary Application (Outside of regular application periods)
Applications for short-term stays will only be accepted if there is a vacancy. Please check our
website and apply through the application system.
Period of Tenancy
- Shugakuin / Yoshida / Koshibo / Hyakumanben / Mizuki / Okazaki : From one month (minimum) to one year (maximum)

Uji/Ohbaku: From one month (minimum) to two years (maximum)
Applications must be made on the researcher’s behalf by their host professor or an appropriate staff member of their faculty/department of affiliation. Please note that if the number of applicants exceeds the number of available units, successful applicants will be decided by lottery.
Period of Tenancy
- Shugakuin/Yoshida/Okazaki: From one month (minimum) to one year (maximum)
